CFN will provide continuous training to current and new employees to ensure all staff remain sensitive to and aware of the special requirement of others.  New hires will be provided this training when in the first weeks of hire and other staff members will be provided refresher training no less than every three years.

CFN will provide, upon request, a copy of the following policies, in an accessible format:

Information and Communications

CFN is committed to making our information and communications accessible to people with disabilities.

CFN will make available alternate forms of information and communication to suit the situation as required be it written or verbal, using technology as and when it is available to accommodate the need such as:

  • HTML and Microsoft Word

  • accessible audio formats

  • large print

  • text transcripts of visual and audio information

Employment

CFN is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to fair and accessible employment practices.  CFN will, as required by the situation, accommodate the needs of the employee where physically possible to ensure the employees dignity and job enrichment is maintained.  This is an on-going process.

Training

CFN is committed to providing training in the requirements of Ontario’s accessibility laws and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it applies to individuals with disabilities.

All new hires will be provided adequate accessibility training during the on-boarding process and all staff will be provided refresher training every three years.  Circulars will be posted on the employee notice boards and update as required to reinforce the policy of CFN.

Design of Public Spaces

CFN will meet accessibility laws when building or making major changes to public spaces.
